The beginning

The boat as we took it on. The outside picture is after the lake level lowered. Lake Fontana is really a hydroelectric reservoir and the TVA lower it each winter to make room for spring rain.  This means if you've any work to do on your boat or houseboat, you can bring it to the shallows and wait for it to land on the dirt.

The inside pictures show that it's not in bad shape, but the wood within the fibreglass skin is badly rotten after years of water ingress. That will all have to come out and be replaced.

The original design including angled pillars that require you to lean at each pass. Also, the upper deck is shorter than the lower, so all that rain pours on to the lower deck helping to rot the wood there. The engine compartment there has gutters to run the water out, but it's not a great design

Old pictures of the inside

Rot inside the fibreglass. Note the wrinkles indicating the problem.

Roof will need to be repaired and painted as it's deteriorated in the weather.
